But I also believe that with hard work and struggle goals can be achieved. Even if my goals aren't achieved in my own lifetime I'm happy to play the part of a spark that ignites change. I absolutely adore reading books of any type and writing poetry. I am a firm believer that "a man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul.” I live in a city full of strip malls and ugly brick and concrete structures. But I know that the world is full of green grass, dazzling oceans, and trees. I think God's architecture is much more amazing than anything you'll ever find in the city and I can't wait to move out of Charlotte where I can take my shoes off and feel the Earth underneath my toes. I think animals enrich humans lives beyond anything else. They are wonderful companions and often act in amazing and complex ways. I think I might grow up to be one of those women whose family has two dogs and cats and birds and an animal of every sort. Apparently I have more love to give than I know what to do with! I sometimes have an identity crisis when it comes to religion. I am pretty sure that the wonders of the world were not created by mere chance and that there must be a God up there. Although I do have to admit to questioning this on my bad days. I'm not sure if I believe everything in the bible but I think it's generally (and I emphasize generally) a good example to follow. But honestly I just try to live my life with kindness and compassion and joy for each passing day. And I hope that in the end that is enough. I'm sure there are other important things I should be telling you here. I'm always up for outtings to local museums, coffee shops, midnight waffle house trips (well honestly I prefer IHOP), visits to the park and adventures! I love being outside whether it's hiking, just walking through the park, white water rafting, or playing a game. I'm a graduate student right now and I feel like I may never graduate but soon...oh how I hope soon I will be done and able to move. But right now I'm paying my dues, reading the right books, writing the papers, working the late night hours, and looking hopefully towards the future for something magical....
